Determining the Right Tool

What typically determines the type of tooling required when die-cutting material?

There are four main factors that determine what type of tool should be used. You need to ask yourself these four questions:

What is the length of the job?
What type of material is being cut?
What is the accuracy or tolerance of the cut material?
What type of press will you be using?

Once you know the answers to these questions, you will typically be able to determine the appropriate tool.

Rewind Slitting

What is rewind slitting?

Rewind slitting is the preferred method for slitting large volumes of standard sized rolls of pressure-sensitive tape. In this process, large master rolls of jumbos are used to unwind tape and then are rewound layer over layer across a set of prespaced cores.
